Dear Future Me,
Life is full of struggles that break you down to test your limits. Those challenges are on your mind as it hold you back from achieving your goals and dreams. However, there are more memories that are worthwhile to hold on to; memories that should inspire you to accomplish tasks beyond your imagination. Those memories are often masked, as optimism lacks the strength to shine through. Yet, the feeling of joy and happiness those good memories hold are essential to living life to the fullest.

“Studying” in the Henday library, I wondered what I could do besides staring at the countless pages of notes that my professors have posted online since the start of this semester. I am already panicking over my final exams, which begin in a little over two weeks. Then, I looked through my bookmarks, and “WordPress” caught my eye. I am left thinking, “Eh, no one has visited my blog… since I have neglected it for over five months now.” But, boy was I wrong.
Almost a year ago, I started this blog in hopes to record my life as it changed for better or worse (as cliché as that sounds). I envisioned sharing it with a few close friends, who had enough spare time on their hands to read the words of my mind. I never imagined that people from all over the world (precisely eighty-five countries!!!) would browse the Internet and stop on these pages. Leave It to Fate

Rarely do I ever leave myself to follow what I was “destined” to do. For my destiny is in my own hands & I can accomplish as little or as much as I wish. Thus, my plans are set with goals that I feel would fit. Yet, every plan I could have imagined could not have prepared me for what I face now. The uncertainty is definite & the possibilities are endless.
To control the scenario is pointless. For if I had carried out what I once planned to do, the results would have differed & what I have as we speak would not have existed. To lose the control & feel everything in the moment is a scary, but thrilling experience. Eh, the last week has dragggggged on endlessly.. with reason.. but today was nonetheless extremely tough & I am sure that tomorrow will not improve by any measures… However, tomorrow all the overwhelming sadness will come to an end & slowly things will get better… I have faith in a more optimistic future. Reason to Smile #29 – Stories of Past Memories

Often times it takes something powerful to change our perspective. Other times it subtly changes with experience. With more knowledge, there are more questions & a world far more unknown than one could possibly comprehend.
I lived my life to this point thinking I knew what I knew, but there was so much that I was sheltered from. So many stories I never heard, so many background reasons that I never considered.
With each new story, I learn the reasons behind the choices of people who I love. I learn where my morals & values come from & the reasons behind some strong beliefs. Thus learning what means the most to the people I love. Continue reading this entry »

Title says it all. I havent posted lately ( last post was over a month ago o.O )… with reason I believe.
Blogging to me is simple. It is a recollection of my life through my eyes from my point of view to a public audience. It explains my thoughts, my desires & basically anything I want to say. Simply put, it is similar to an online journal where I can scroll back & see the leaps & bounds I have (or have not) taken.

My quick opinion summarized below… Excuse me for the lack of posts lately, but I am super stressed with exams & trying to push through till the end of this school year. Two more weeks & I promise more posts since it will be the summer! =)

I am a girl with potential to do many great things & succeed beyond any measures. I am capable of more than you could ever expect, so do not underestimate me. If you like me, then I hope we can be friends. If you like me more than any friends should, then please just let me know.Do not treat me like a game or manipulate the way I feel. Telling me “Do you like tough guys? I’m tough” is slightly odd to me, but treating me like I am some joke by flat out flirting during class crosses a fine line. Continue reading this entry »

Surviving the Fall – By Lok Sze
Imagine me, a child, on the edge of a lake in the middle of winter. Staring longingly into the vast surface of ice that covered the water beneath. I was curious to see whether the ice would break. So, I took a small step and was amazed by how the ice that was once water could hold me. I was in awe, and my eyes were full of surprise. I stepped further knowing the dangers others warned me, but taking the risk because standing on the ice felt as lifting as the moment you “fly” when you jump off any great height.
The step felt effortless and safe, so I never questioned or pondered what could have happened. I was in the moment full of life, joy and happiness. It was beyond my boring childhood days, and I was fulfilling my every curious desire. Hence, I walked further to explore the opportunities, to test the waters and to see how happy I could be. Every second was filled with an ease lacking worry or stress. But, I was so naïve….

I got the opportunity last year to join the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) to represent both my high school and the CBE at a conference held in Edmonton regarding my opinion on various aspects of the education system. It was a phenomenal trip and really change my view of the value of my opinion & through this I learnt that my voice truly matters. Thus, the annual Speak Out Conference held a place close to my heart because the motivation I felt inspired me to set a higher standard for myself. Continue reading this entry »
